Learn what DECA is and who leads our chapter.

What is DECA?

DECA prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in five main categories: marketing, finance, hospitality, management, and business. At Northfield, we compete, travel to conferences, build professional skills, and create a strong chapter community.

01

Roleplays

Roleplays are individual competitive events where competitors receive a business scenario, get a 10-minute prep time, and present a solution to a judge. Roleplay competitors also take an exam, so the final score includes both presentation skills and business knowledge.

02

Writtens

Written events are prepared before competition. Competitors create a business plan, campaign, or proposal, then present it to judges. Most of the work happens ahead of time, and written events do not include an exam.

03

Team Decision Making

Team Decision Making, or TDM, is basically a two-person roleplay. Partners prep together for 25 minutes, build one solution, and present as a team. It is great for people who like collaboration.
